Weimar-based three-piece Sarter Kit have released their new single, ‘Schillernde Schillerlinge’. It’s a visionary piece of experimental jazz that allows Tara Sarter’s minimalistic saxophone to fill the gaps between an unpredictable drum groove and a stabbing, twinkling keyboard. Over the course of the track, this skittish anxiety slowly gives way to a (slightly) more traditional groove, with the warm low register of the sax getting its chance to dive into some longer-form melodies. Sarter says: “I find inspiration in little moments in nature, like how light breaks on the surface of the water.
